While the South Carlton Solar Farm would be built on farmland on Fen Lane, covering six fields of various sizes.
According to developers Enviromena, the infrastructure would power 17,100 homes and prevent nearly 10,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions every year.
The company plans to seek temporary permission for the installation to remain for 40 years.
And as a smaller energy project, the decision will rest with West Lindsey District Council rather than the national Government.
No formal plans have been submitted yet, though community consultation is expected.
