Man left seething after his parking space is secretly rented out by his neighbour

A man was left enraged after discovering that his neighbour was secretly renting out his unused parking space.
The neighbour, who was renting out the space for six months, had a contract drawn up for the rentee to sign it.
The man allowed his friend to use the space for a couple of months, but was shocked to discover the neighbour had been profiting from his kindness.
He is now seeking legal advice on how to resolve the matter.
The furious man took to Reddit to complain

He took to the online platform Reddit to share his story.
The man mentioned that in his block of flats, every resident has “assigned parking bays and it turns out my downstairs neighbour has been renting mine out for the last six months or so”.
As he does not drive, he did not notice that somebody he didn’t know was using his spot.
He also never works from home so was never in the building block at the same time as the rentee.
LATEST DEVELOPMENT:
The man believes that the rentee was using the spot to park in before walking to the train station to commute to work.
One of the man’s friends told him of his plans to go travelling, so he said that he could use the spot to store his car whilst he was away.
The man then discovered that his parking space was being rented out without his permission.
“Next thing I know, my wife phoned me all stressed because she’s got into it with the person who’s leased my space,” he posted online.
“They were under the impression it was my neighbour’s and have produced a contract and are now insisting I vacate the parking bay as they have already paid for it.”
The Reddit post ended with a plea from the man asking for legal counsel.
The neighbour allegedly tried to justify his actions by stating he did not think it would be an issue as the parking space was not in use

One commenter said: “Your neighbour has entered into a contract with someone and has no right to rent out your parking space. That’s on them and whoever else is the other party in that contract.
“Waving a piece of paper around saying they have a contract is irrelevant, the contract is invalid and you can demonstrate this is the case.”
The neighbour allegedly tried to justify his actions by stating he did not think it would be an issue as the parking space was not in use prior.
Last week, a similar incident between a seething resident and a snooping neighbour occurred.
A man who ordered a package online was left disgruntled after it “accidentally” ended up in the hands of another neighbour.
The neighbour then texted the original recipient informing him he had the package, and said if he wanted it back, he would need to pay.
