A man has been handed a suspended jail sentence after kicking a woman and fracturing her shoulder in a row outside his flat.
David Cottell, 35, from Ventnor in the Isle of Wight, appeared before Island magistrates on Friday where he was sentenced for grievous bodily harm without intent.
The incident occurred on October 4, 2023 - and saw his victim hospitalised with a fractured shoulder.
Cottell was given a 20-week jail term, suspended for 12 months, for the assault.

The court heard that the woman had reacted to Cottell shouting by banging on his window and door.
Cottell then came outside and kicked her, causing her to fall and fracture her shoulder.
After the assault, he stood over the injured woman and shouted at her once again before returning inside.
The entire incident was captured on CCTV footage.
The woman was subsequently taken to hospital for treatment of her injuries, prosecutor Liz Miller told the court.

Cottell, of Spring Hill, Ventnor, had initially pleaded not guilty
The court heard that Cottell had initially pleaded not guilty - but changed his plea on the day of his trial on January 8.
This marks Cottell's 14th offence against a person, following a previous two-month jail sentence in 2020 for assault.
In addition to the suspended sentence, magistrates ordered Cottell to pay £650 in costs and a £154 surcharge.
But his solicitor, Oscar Vincent, told the court that his client and the complainant have both lived in close proximity without issue since the incident.
LATEST FROM THE SOUTH EAST:
Vincent said: "The harassment he has received has impacted significantly on his mental health."
The defence claimed Cottell had been a long-standing victim of bullying from neighbours.
The court also heard that Cottell had been dealing with the bereavement of a friend at the time of the offence.
Despite these mitigating factors, magistrates proceeded with the suspended sentence.
