Britons are celebrating one of the UK's best loved drinks this National Tea Day.
Founded in 2016, by The Tea Group, this year marks nearly a decade of National Tea Day, with the date of April 21 chosen because it is also Queen Elizabeth’s birthday.
The UK Tea & Infusions Association (UKTIA) says 84 per cent of the UK population drinks tea every day, so there is no doubt the nation loves it, with more than 100 million cups of tea consumed daily and 60 billion cups of tea drunk in Britain every year.
On National Tea Day, tea parties are held in cafés, pubs, hotels and tea rooms across the UK.

Many of these events aim to encourage people to try different varieties of tea, but however the day is observed, it's about appreciating the cultural significance of the drink along with bringing people together.

She said: "Tea is a really comforting break for everybody to come and sit down and have a little breather with a nice warming cup of tea.
"We serve Yorkshire Tea because we are based here in Yorkshire, we also serve Earl Grey, decaf tea and a range of herbal teas and a chai latte as well, which is actually a tea.
"Our afternoon tea is served with a range of fresh sandwiches, some lovely fresh bakes and a scone with clotted tea and jam and it's often most popular with ladies. Bring your mum, bring your friends and sit down [for afternoon tea].

"We don't normally open on Mondays but we have during Easter Monday.
"Easter is a time to spend with family, so lots of big groups come in and we get big tables, party food and an enjoyable time all around."
The tradition of tea drinking has deep roots in British history, with the introduction of tea to England in the 17th century.
However, the concept of tea rooms as we recognise them today began to flourish in the late 19th century.
In Cawood, The Village Tea Room partners local suppliers to offer high quality breakfasts, lunches, snacks, cakes, and drinks and coffee is also a popular drink at the The Village Tea Room in Cawood.
They serve locally sourced Limini Coffee which is roasted in Yorkshire.
The tea room is also a community hub for the village, with events held throughout the week including Cawood Community Care Group bingo, live entertainment and mother and baby groups. Click HERE for further information.
