The jackpot win adds to an impressive list of lottery successes already seen in 2025

A lucky National Lottery player has become the biggest winner of 2025 after claiming an enormous £11.7million jackpot from Saturday's draw.

The massive win came despite it being a Must Be Won draw, which could have seen the prize shared between multiple ticket holders.

Instead, one fortunate player has walked away with the entire life-changing sum, according to National Lottery operator Allwyn.

The jackpot represents the largest lottery win in the UK so far this year.

This impressive win surpasses the previous 2025 record held by 20-year-old James Clarkson, who scooped £7.5million in the Lotto draw on January 4.

Saturday's winning numbers were 10, 11, 34, 38, 54, 55 with the bonus number 26.

The identity of the latest multi-millionaire has not yet been revealed.

Players across the country had been eagerly awaiting the outcome of the Must Be Won draw, which ultimately went to just one ticket holder.

Andy Carter, senior winners' adviser at Allwyn, expressed his delight at the claim.

"We're absolutely delighted that this life-changing Lotto jackpot prize has now been claimed," he said.

"What a wonderful win, just imagine that moment when the lucky ticket-holder realised they were a multi-millionaire. The possibilities for them are now incredible."

He added: "Our focus is now on supporting the ticket-holder through the process so they can start enjoying their win as soon as possible."

The jackpot win adds to an impressive list of lottery successes already seen in 2025.

A further two £4million jackpots were claimed by single ticket-holders in January.

One player also won a £1million UK Millionaire Maker prize in Friday's EuroMillions draw.

February proved equally fortunate for some players, with a £7.4million jackpot claimed by a single ticket-holder on February 15.

Later that month, three lucky winners shared a jackpot to scoop £1.7million each in the draw on February 26.

In total, there have been 10 Lotto jackpot wins so far this year.

Meanwhile, the National Lottery is appealing for a Set For Life prize winner to come forward before the deadline expires.

The unclaimed ticket was purchased in the Sevenoaks district and would grant the winner £10,000 every month for 30 years.

Players have until April 22 to claim the substantial prize, which totals a whopping £3.6million over the three decades.

The Thunderball draw over the weekend produced no winners, with the numbers 05, 11, 16, 38, 39 and Thunderball 06.
