The couple's marriage officially ended last month, according to newly-lodged paperwork

National Lottery winner Gillian Bayford has finalised her divorce from second husband Brian Deans, with reports suggesting he walked away with nothing due to a pre-nuptial agreement.

The 52-year-old multi-millionaire, who scooped a £148million EuroMillions jackpot in 2012, is said to have given Deans £5 million over their seven-year marriage.

The couple's marriage officially ended last month, according to newly-lodged paperwork.

Despite having a pre-nuptial agreement in place, Bayford reportedly lavished gifts on Deans, 43, including cars, watches and spending money during their relationship.

A friend of Bayford said: "She reckons she's so much better off than she was when she was with him."

"Now the divorce is final she's starting all over again and is delighted with how everything has worked out."

Deans, a convicted fraudster, had been jailed for six months in August 2012 for swindling £13,500 from a Tesco store in Dundee.

Bayford met Deans after splitting from her first husband Adrian, with whom she had shared the massive lottery win.

The couple had separated when their windfall caused a rift, with Gillian moving from Suffolk back to Scotland where she grew up.

She walked away with half the jackpot - £74 million.

Bayford and Deans married in a lavish ceremony at the Fairmont Hotel in St Andrews in 2018 and welcomed a daughter together two years later.

Insiders claim the marriage began to deteriorate as Deans allegedly splurged millions on what friends described as an "out-of-control lifestyle".

Friends claimed Bayford gave him a monthly allowance, but he reportedly argued it was never enough and kept asking for more.

She kicked him out in March 2024, with friends saying he was spending cash on drinking and travelling to European football games.

The pre-nuptial agreement ensured Deans could not access Bayford's fortune following their split.

As part of the divorce proceedings, a £200,000 loan from her company was written off.

Documents also reveal that his house is held in a trust, preventing him from selling the property.

A friend said: "I'm not sure how happy Brian is with how it's all turned out. He's signed everything away and more or less walked away with nothing."

Deans has reportedly disputed some claims about the relationship breakdown.

"The watches, they were all gifts. The cars were all in her name," he told friends, "I left of my own accord, she didn't kick me out."

Deans currently runs a pub in Auchterarder, Perthshire.
