Matt Myles, who was just 28-years-old at the time, came back from a lads' holiday when the incident happened

A EuroMillions winner was dragged to the ground by his testicles after an ex-girlfriend spotted a Snapchat notification on his phone.

Matt Myles had just returned home following an eight-month lads' holiday when things turned ugly with then-girlfriend Carla Chamberlain, who was aged just 24 at the time.

Myles, from Hereford, scooped £1million playing EuroMillions in April 2014 and spent £500,000 on a luxury worldwide tour.

They had originally met in 2013 and gone out for 10 months before splitting up just weeks before Myles' lottery win. The pair got back together upon his return.

When he returned from his trip, Myles, then 28-years-old, boasted about sleeping with 87 women during his time away. However, when Chamberlain saw a notification pop up on his phone from another woman on Snapchat, the then 24-year-old became violent.

Hereford Magistrates' Court heard how the fitness instructor snapped when she saw the message, smacking Myles in the face. She also scratched his neck with her glittery acrylic nails and then grabbed and squeezed his testicles.

Describing the night of the assault, Myles added: "Carla shouted, ‘Why the [bleep] are you getting pictures from her? I bet she sends you more than that.'"

Following the attack, she was convicted of two counts of assault and one count of criminal damage but was cleared of another criminal damage charge. She was forced to pay a £625 fine and handed a 12-month long restraining order.

Reflecting on the ordeal, Myles told MailOnline: "The lottery win was the most amazing thing that ever happened to me, but ironically it also led to the worst – suffering domestic abuse at the hands of the woman I loved.

"The attack left me feeling vulnerable and really knocked my confidence."

Myles also said that after he had asked Chamberlain to stop scratching his face using her "massive" acrylic nails, she then punched him in the face.

He had served for five years in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers but said the event left him "feeling completely powerless".

The former electrical engineer splashed his earnings on private yachts, ringside seats, and holidays with pals, among other things.

During their lads' holiday to the Spanish party island, Myles hired a private yacht, sailed to iconic venue Cafe Mambo and watched legendary DJ Fatboy Slim play a gig.

Since the attack in 2015, he tied the knot with his NHS play specialist wife Stacy Edwards and also became a father to his son Jude in December 2017.
