Nickell-Turner is 'hopeful' the Welsh Government allows children to change gender without telling their parents

GB News presenter Nana Akua and Tory MP Jonathan Gullis were on the same side in a fiery debate with journalist Amy Nickell-Turner on gender dysphoria.
The panel were rowing over a Telegraph report suggesting the Welsh Labour government are allowing children to change gender without telling their parents.
Nickell-Turner admitted she is “hopeful” the Welsh Government is pursuing such a policy.
“It is the best way around this“, she argued.

“They said it is not a neutral act. You know what else isn’t a neutral act? Ignoring a child when they present gender dysphoria.”
Gullis hit back to suggest gender dysphoria is a “mental illness”.
“It’s not just me, it’s the global consensus. Every medical body that gender-affirming care is right”, Nickell-Turner said.
“You’re talking absolute rubbish”, said Nana Akua.
Nickell-Turner was left frustrated at interjections by her debating partners, saying she was “absolutely done”.
“If I am going to be ridiculed like this, I won’t talk”, she said.

“The Welsh Government don’t have a lax approach, they have an approach that we previously had.
“We have brought in these new rules about gender ideology which has changed school guidance for the worse.
“Anyone with a trans child is incredibly concerned with how we have gone with this in England.”
Gullis responded: “Amy said this was happening before, it absolutely wasn’t.
“I was a school teacher, if a child had told me they were in the wrong body, I would have informed their parents immediately.”
According to the Telegraph, outraged parents have raised concerns about the Welsh Government’s ‘shocking’ approach with action group Merched Cymru saying children’s safety was at risk.
The Welsh Government has promised to publish advice for schools on how to respond to children questioning their gender.
