Mike Parry has explained why he took on the cinnamon challenge in what has turned out to be a viral video.
Mr Parry was filmed taking part in the challenge, which involves people placing a spoonful of ground cinnamon in their mouth without drinking anything.
But the challenge left the broadcaster coughing and gasping for air before he called for water to clear his throat.
The video, which was shot in 2015, has now amassed around 300 million views online.

Mr Parry told Nigel that the challenge is part of his "legacy"

Speaking about the challenge on GB News’ Farage, Mr Parry said: ”It’s had about 300 million views around the world since we did it and do you know what it nearly never happened; I had a bit of a heart scare a few years ago.
“It was taken in my sister’s garden, my nephew, said this was a big rave going on around the world why don’t you try it.
“And the reason it’s worked was because I was immediately dismissive with all it was all about, it doesn’t bother me, I’ve been trained to take pain and all that kind of stuff.
“Of course, I look so foolish when it happened but my nephew was so worried at how convulsed I got he nearly switched the camera off and came and run over to help me out.
“Thank god he didn’t because that is part of my lifelong legacy really.”
Nigel replied by saying: “Yes but a pretty stupid thing to do for a guy that’s had serious heart trouble."
Before Mr Parry continued: “I’ve been offered a lot of money and a lot of opportunities to do it again and of course I won’t because I’ve realised now just how dangerous it could be.
