Two more migrants have lost their lives while trying to cross the English Channel, bringing the total number of deaths for this year to the record number of 62.
French media reports indicate up to 20 more people remain missing at sea, further intensifying concerns about the mounting death toll.
Officials have revealed that people smugglers, driven by profit motives, are putting more migrants at risk by using increasingly poor quality vessels.
