Watch the moment GB News star Nana Akua locks horns with political commentator Matthew Stadlen in a tense moment.
In the Great British Debate, Nana was asking whether the Labour Government should use emergency powers to stop the boats.
Stadlen raised the possibility of getting small boat migrants into work and helping contribute to the UK economy, saying “99 per cent” would like to do so.
“Do I blame people for seeking a better life? Do I blame people who are fleeing from genuinely appalling situations? No.” he said.

“We should remember that very few of these people actually get sent back anywhere and that is because a lot of these people are coming back from dangerous parts of the world.
“Am I concerned about the numbers of people coming to this country? Yes I am. Are they only coming via boat? No they’re not. There are all sorts of ways people can be here illegally. They can overstay their visas.

“But I don’t know what getting a grip looks like beyond what Keir Starmer said - getting a grip on the gangs.”
Nana responded by arguing that while many are fleeing dangerous parts of the world, they are not necessarily fleeing persecution.
She continued: “They’re undocumented, stay many years and eventually disappear. That cannot continue.”
Nana probed Matthew to ask what he would do about the crisis, something he admits he does not have an answer to.

“It’s actually a very tricky situation, but it’s not just us facing it. We come behind Germany and Italy in terms of the number of people seeking asylum”, he said.
Nana said Italy and Germany are significantly larger countries than Britain and therefore his point “isn’t quite true”.
Stadlen interjected to argue there is not much of a difference between Italy and Britain, and intervention that did not impress Nana.
“Let me finish”, she repeated three times as he continued his argument.
“We don’t have the ability to look after these people. The bottom line is, we need to find a solution.”
“What is the solution? What should we do?”, Stadlen weighed in. “I do not want an unlimited number of people coming from this country.
The pair continued to speak over each other as the row raged on, leading Nana to snap: “Listen, the way it works is this.
“It’s my show, so when I speak you do not talk over me.”
