Hundreds of people have been protesting in Manchester following an incident where a police officer kicked a man in the head

Michelle Dewberry has posed three questions following the incident at Manchester Airport where a police officer was filmed kicking a man in the head on the floor.

Before the incident, three police officers were violently attacked while trying to make arrests leaving all three officers in hospital and one with a broken nose.

Dewberry responded to a post on X by an onlooker who stated in a voice note that before the incident, "a load of brothers were daft and started punching the officers."

The GB News host asked: "Why is the footage of that being suppressed and why aren’t folk also equally outraged by those actions too?"

Following the incident protests erupted in Manchester city centre as train and tram lines were blocked and eggs were thrown at police.

On Thursday evening, a few hundred protesters gathered outside the office of Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham as part of a Stand Up To Racism demonstration, chanting slogans such as “No justice, no peace, no racist police."

Placards included "black lives matter", "serve and protect means GMB will stamp on our heads" and GMP is "racist."

Dewberry posed her second question to protestors asking: "How have so many people immediately concluded the police actions were a “racist attack”, where is the evidence for that?"

She followed this with a third and final question: "To the people for whom point 2 applies, do you also then regard the assault against the police officers as a racist attack, if not, why not, given your logic on point 2?"

Previously speaking on GB News Dewberry also said: "I do find it a little bit concerning. You have a protest taking place by a group called Manchester Stand Up to Racism.

“They are saying they have this protest against racist police. I am just asking, what evidence have you got that this was motivated by racism?

“There’s groups asking if it was Manchester Police carrying out a George Floyd-type killing? I mean, come on now.

“I just find these protests outside of police stations where you have community mobs dictating, I have a bit of an issue with that. It was the same that we see in Harehills. We saw people setting fire to buses.

“I get a little bit worried we’re teetering on the edge of mob rule in this country.

“I have asked many people that if you are going around stating 'this is racism', please tell me the evidence you have got.”
