The GB News presenter had a horrifying London Underground experience

Michelle Dewberry became embroiled in a feisty debate with a Labour councillor over how people are branded.

It comes as the GB News presenter recalled her horrifying experience on the London Underground, where an individual caused a public nuisance in an incident that left her “petrified”.

Dewberry branded the individual a “madman” after he “threatened” passengers in an incident which has been reported to the police.

Labour councillor for Shrewsbury Town Elisabeth Roberts took issue with Michelle Dewberry’s use of terminology.

“How do you know that he’s a madman?,” she asked.

Dewberry snapped back: “Because that’s the term that I chose to describe him based on his erratic, aggressive, threatening violent behaviour.”

Roberts argued back in response: “Mental health isn’t supported. Those adjectives you have used suggests that person may have an underlying problem.

“You should not go around doing that!”

Dewberry said: “What you’re saying is, if someone acts in a violent, threatening manner, you’re saying they have a mental health issue.

“I would reject that if I was suffering with a mental health issue.”

Dewberry went on to argue that while mental health services deserve better support, people deserve scrutiny for their actions, and mental health should not be used as an excuse if individuals are threatening the safety of others.

“Can I be completely honest? I couldn’t care less about his state of mind”, she said.

“I care about my safety, but primarily my two-year-old’s safety and beyond that, the safety of everyone else in the carriage.

“This fellow’s state of mind I genuinely couldn’t care less about and I find it fascinating.”

Michelle spoke about the incident on GB News, revealing the individual was “ranting and raving”, which spiked fears that she could have been in a similar situation to families in Annecy, France, when a rampaging attacker stabbed a child in their pram.

“I have to say I’m a tough cookie, but being in that situation in a packed carriage, I was absolutely petrified”, she said.

“The main reason I was petrified was because I had an image of that situation in Annecy, where that guy went around stabbing children.

“I panicked, and I found myself moving my child to get as far away from this guy as possible, which wasn’t far because we were packed in.”

Dewberry made reference to the stabbing of four children in a park in Annecy, France.

A British girl was one of the children attacked, and was able to leave hospital soon after.
