GB News host Michelle Dewberry has left viewers stunned after “identifying as a cat” in response to a teen being labelled “despicable” in a heated school row.
The 43-year-old, who hosts GB News show Dewbs & Co between 6pm and 7pm from Monday to Friday, appeared somewhat different when she greeted viewers earlier today.
Dewberry wore cat ears, painted on whiskers and even added a feline nose as she covered the controversial case of a 13-year-old pupil challenging gender identification at a school in Sussex.
Speaking on her show, the former Brexit Party MEP said: “Meow, I’ve learnt something new today, everybody.

“It is perfectly acceptable to identify as a cat. You what?
“Don’t you dare mock it by the way because I’ve decided that is now what I am.
“Meowchelle, to you. But if you do indeed mock it be careful because I wouldn’t be surprised if it could be considered a hate crime.
“Self-identity, where do we draw the line?”

Dewberry added: “As much as I’m being silly with my fancy dress, this is a very serious story because what is going on in this world when children can be considered cats and be taken seriously at school?”
Her comments came after a Church of England school teacher blasted a student as “despicable” for challenging another student who identifies as a feline.
The 13-year-old pupil and her friend were slammed by their teacher at Rye College in East Sussex on Friday.
A student allegedly asked a fellow classmate: “How can you identify as a cat when you’re a girl?”
Their teacher told them they were being reported to a senior leader and were no longer welcome at the school if they continued to express the view that only boys and girls exist.
During the recording of the hostile exchange, the teacher also said: “How dare you – you’ve just really upset someone” by “questioning their identity”.
The pupil responded: “If they want to identify as a cat or something then they are genuinely unwell – crazy.”
