GB News presenter Michelle Dewberry has revealed her shock at finding a male in the female changing room at her Virgin Active gym and explained that it made her feel "very uncomfortable."
The incident prompted her to question the gym's policy on changing facilities.

The host explained: "I went to my gym very recently, and I went into the female-only changing room. Imagine my surprise when I found a man in the changing room—yes, a male in the female-only changing room.
"So, I went to the gym and asked them about their policy. What is your policy for the female changing rooms? It was so bizarre.

"They sent me an email basically saying that they were welcoming and inclusive. I said, that’s really interesting, but what is your policy when it comes to the changing rooms?
"And I got this email back, it was from one of the managers at the gym, and it said: 'Hi Michelle, I hope this email reaches you well.

"The changing rooms are split between female and male, with children attending up to the age of eight years old of a different gender.' No problems with that.
"'For the female changing rooms in particular, though, this would cover females of all ages, boys up to the age of eight years old, transgender females, and non-binary members.
"I hope this helps you, and if you have any further questions, I can support you with this.'
"And I’m sorry, but this made me really uncomfortable, because what this gym—Virgin Active, in case you're wondering—is actually telling me as a member is that the single-sex female changing room is nothing of the sort.

"So, yes, little boys with their mums, no problem. But once you start getting into the territory of, I quote, 'non-binary members,' that’s where I draw the line.
"You’ve lost me at this point, because now this isn’t a safe, single-sex space.
"This is a space where any member—a man—can just go into the changing room, tell me that he's a non-binary person, and I’m supposed to be okay with that? Suffice to say, I went ahead and cancelled my membership as a result of that."
This comes after The founder of The Girls Spot gym in Wandsworth, London has faced intense criticism online after announcing her venue would be a "single-sex space for biological women" only.

She has been "absolutely battered by activists online calling her all names under the sun," according to Michelle.
Transgender broadcaster India Willoughby suggested women who "look trans" might face an "undie inspection" at Barnett's gym.
Critics argue that transgender women also face harassment and should not be excluded.
