Itay Raviv said ‘we have to understand that Hamas doesn't care about Palestinian rights’
A MAN with four family members being held captive by Hamas in Gaza has appealed for help from world governments to help free civilians there.
Itay Raviv said the terror group is holding his aunt and uncle, both 78-years-old, plus a second aunt and her 8-year-old son, after they were abducted from a kibbutz.
He told GB News: “The world needs to help and do everything in their power to release them because they're civilians.
“I hear you talking all the time about civilians in Gaza, how they need humanitarian aid, and I agree with you completely. But we must not forget that there are Israeli civilians inside of Gaza in the hands of Hamas which is a terrorist organisation that is similar to ISIS and to al-Qaeda.
“We've seen the horrors and what they're capable of. We need to do everything in our power. Everyone who sees that, to press on whoever, political leaders, on the Press.
“Release the civilians. When we talk about humanitarian aid, we must also talk about releasing civilians from a terror organisation.”
In a discussion with Mark Longhurst and Pip Tomson, he continued: “We're talking about civilians, and of course civilians with foreign nationality, obviously, but also civilians without foreign nationality. Why does it matter?
“They're civilians. If we talk about war crimes and crimes against humanity, you should never, never touch civilians. And their nationality doesn't matter. As long as they're civilians, they should not be in captivity.”
He added: “If Hamas doesn't care about Palestinian civilians, I'm quite sure they don't care about Israeli civilians. And this is another thing we have to understand, that Hamas doesn't care about Palestinian rights.
“They have nothing to do with wanting a solution for the Israeli Palestinian conflict, a two state solution. They don't care about that. They don't care about Palestinians.”
