He then performed other dog behaviours which included lifting a paw up in an apparent greeting to viewers.
While he was also seen rolling on the floor, much like dogs do in real life.
Zeppet, the makers of the costumer, say they studied the skeleton of a collie to make the suit as realistic as possible.
The man who bought the unique outift, known online as Toko-san, said it had “fulfilled my dream of becoming an animal.”
He added: "I made it a collie because it looks real when I put it on.
"I thought that a big animal close to my size would be good, considering that it would be a realistic model, so I decided to make it a dog.
“There are restrictions, but you can move in it.
“However, if you move too much, it will not look like a dog."
But the video has received a mixed reaction, with some fans welcoming the idea, while others have hit out at the money he spent on the costume.
One Twitter user said: "Being freak, god level! Well done!"
While another added: "You spent money on that? Lol well at least it’s realistic to a degree."
A third person said: "I think it’s awesome that you are a border collie. Never change unless you want to."
