London train stabbing: Man brandishes HUGE knife in broad-daylight attack - Police launch urgent manhunt

A desperate manhunt is underway after a man was stabbed in a broad daylight attack on a train en route to Victoria today.
Police have launched an appeal for witnesses to come forward after the victim was reported to have “serious injuries”.
The incident is reported to have taken place shortly before 4pm.
The victim's injuries are believed to be “life-threatening” according to the police.

British Transport Police have yet to make any arrests.
In a statement, British Transport Police said: “Detectives are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a man was seriously injured at Beckenham Junction today.
“At around 3.56pm today (27 March), we received reports of two men fighting while entering a train at Shortlands (railway station). A man sustained serious injures consistent with being stabbed.
“Officers attended, alongside colleagues from the Metropolitan Police Service and the London Ambulance Service, and the victim was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

“Enquiries are ongoing and there have been no arrests so far.
“British Transport Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to contact BTP by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 397 of 27/03/2024.

According to a video posted on social media, the attack is believed to have occurred on the train to Victoria Station between Shortlands and Beckenham.
The attacked was seen to be wearing a black puffer jacket with light T-shirt underneath, black tracksuit bottoms, and black and white trainers with a Jordan symbol at the back.

An air ambulance was called to the scene after the attack.
According to National Rail, there will be a reduced service to and from Beckenham Junction until approximately 8pm tonight.
In a statement, National Rail said: “The police are attending an incident at Beckenham Junction resulting in all lines being blocked. As a result, trains may be cancelled or revised. This is expected until 20:00.”
