Detectives have launched an investigation afer the bodies of a woman and two children were found inside a property in south London.

Police were called to the address in Belvedere on Thursday afternoon to reports of concern for the welfare of the occupants.


Police and paramedics attended the scene.

After gaining access to the building, they found the body of a 47-year-old woman inside.

Nearby, they also discovered the bodies of two boys, aged seven and nine.

Police said next of kin had been informed and post mortem examinations are being arranged to determine the cause of death.

A Scotland Yard spokesperson said that the Met’s Specialist Crime Command is leading the investigation.

Detective Inspector Ollie Stride, investigating said: “This is a deeply sad case and we are continuing to establish the circumstances that led to this tragic incident.

“I would like to thank the local community for their cooperation while our officers go about their enquiries.

“Our thoughts today are very much with the family as they struggle to come to terms with their loss and we ask that their privacy be respected at this extremely difficult time.”

A crime scene remains in place around the property.


Police were called at 11.50am after concerns for the welfare of occupants at an address on Mayfield Road in Belvedere.

Officers and London Ambulance Service attended.

Police forced entry to the address and Nadja, Alexander and Maximus were found inside. All were sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
