A horse suffered minor injuries but required no further treatment.

Ian Miller, who videod the incident, told The Sun: "I was getting ready for the day and then just heard the sound of horses trotting outside.

"They often use the road to travel between Buckingham Palace and Westminster and are highly trained.

"It was like one was following the other and they were trotting down the road as usual, then I realised neither had a rider.

"One woman was nearly run over because drivers had to pull to the side of the road."

A Metropolitan Police statement also said: "We’re aware that a number of horses were loose in central London and worked with the Army to locate them.
