The man suspected of shooting a woman outside a pub in Kent rang his friends to inform them that "she's dead" just hours after the horrific incident.
Lisa Smith, 43, was fatally shot in a pub car park near Sevenoaks, Kent just after 7pm on Valentine's Day.
Edvard Stockings - who is also known by the last name Smith - called friend Leslie Thompson under two hours after the fatal attack which took place outside the Three Horseshoes pub in Knockholt.
"She's dead, I love you. I'll see you on the other side," the suspect told Thompson.
Thompson said that the phone call had led him to believe that Stockings had shot his wife following a breakdown.
After he allegedly carried out the attack, officers understand that Stockings drove to the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge and entered the water.
After three days of searches along the river, his body has not been found.
A nearby CCTV camera recorded the sound of three gunshots, accompanied by screams and shouts.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
Thompson - talking to the BBC - said that he received a call at 8.50pm when Stocking said he "can't live, we've all gone together" and that "armed police will probably shoot me".
Police said call handlers received a report of a person "on the wrong side of the barrier" on the bridge that same day.
The force said that police also discovered a car containing a gun along the bridge.
The landlady of the pub, Michelle Thomas, told Sky News that she had been preparing the Valentine’s dinner when she heard two loud bangs.
Thomas said Smith was not a regular at the pub, although had been there before "mostly in the summer".
It is understood neither the suspect or victim were from Kent but had local connections to the area.
Yesterday, a spokesman from Kent Police said: "We want to send our support to anyone else in the local and surrounding community who have been impacted by this.
"Please be respectful of everyone involved at this difficult time, thank you."
