Kelvin MacKenzie has condemned new data on foreign national sex crime convictions as "ridiculous" in a scathing analysis.
Freedom of information data has revealed foreign nationals were 71 per cent more likely than Britons to be responsible for sex crime convictions between 2021 and 2023.
Speaking to GB News, Kelvin MacKenzie said: "This is ridiculous. Yes, these are painful statistics for anybody who has suffered at the hands of people who shouldn't even be here.
"One of the stats showed that Eritreans and Afghans were 20 times more likely to commit a sexual crime than the indigenous population.

"In fact, although they represent only 9 per cent of the country, 25 per cent of sexual crimes are carried out by these mainly illegal migrants.
"We have enough problems in our country. We have enough shocking crimes without having to allow in even more people to our nation, without our ability to send anyone back.

"This is an issue that neither the Conservative Party, as we saw under 14 years of lamentable behaviour, nor the Labour Party, seems able to solve.
"They talk about smashing the gangs, but as I’ve pointed out on more than one occasion, they couldn’t even smash potatoes. They are both hopeless.
"Is there a party in our country that will one day deal with the fact that our women are being abused in this way?"
The figures show migrants account for a disproportionate rate of offending compared to their population share.
Foreign nationals represent 9.3 per cent of the UK population but were responsible for a significantly higher percentage of sexual offence convictions.
The data has prompted strong reactions from political figures and commentators.
Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp described the statistics as "shocking" and called for tougher measures.

Of the 16,771 convictions for sexual offences carried out by someone with a known nationality, migrants accounted for 2,500.
The Government has acknowledged the seriousness of these statistics.
A spokesman said: "We are committed to delivering justice for victims and safer streets for our communities."
