More than 25 further bespoke returns flights have also taken place

Sir Keir Starmer's government has achieved the three biggest return flights ever so far, as nearly 10,000 migrants have been deported since Labour took power.

According to the Sunday Mirror, 629 illegal migrants were deported on just three flights alone.

In addition to those record breaking three, more than 25 further bespoke return flights have also taken place, sending individuals back to various countries including Albania, Poland, Romania and Vietnam.

The government has also achieved historic milestones, including the first-ever charter flight to Timor-Leste and the largest returns flight to Nigeria and Ghana.

Additional deportation flights are planned before the year's end, targeting new countries that haven't previously received UK charter flights.

Since Labour took office, approximately 9,400 individuals with no legal right to remain in the UK have been returned to their home countries.

The number of forced deportations has risen by 19 per cent compared to 2023, with nearly 2,600 people removed under this category.

There has also been a significant increase in the removal of foreign national offenders, with a 14 per cent rise compared to the previous year.

These figures demonstrate a marked acceleration in the government's efforts to address illegal immigration and enforce deportation orders for those without legal status in the UK.

A Labour source told the Mirror that the Conservative government's handling of the immigration system was an "utter disaster".

The source highlighted how the previous administration had "poured £700million down the drain on a Rwanda scheme that didn't stop a single boat or deport a single asylum seeker."

The Home Office had been warned that Channel crossings could exceed 50,000 in 2024, while the asylum backlog increased in the final months of the Tory government.

In their final efforts, the previous government offered migrants packages worth £150,000 to voluntarily move to Rwanda, which included housing, healthcare, and education benefits.

Only four people volunteered under this scheme.

This comes just days after the arrest of the so-called "Engine King" in Amsterdam on Wednesday under a joint operation including the UK, the Netherlands and Belgium.

The Turkish suspect is believed to have supplied hundreds of boat motors to smuggling gangs operating across Europe.
