Keir Starmer says Boris Johnson is ‘a disgrace on every level’ and lacks 'integrity, honesty, transparency'

Sir Keir Starmer has told Labour members that Prime Minister Boris Johnson is "a disgrace on every level".

The Labour leader was outlining his party's plan to bring Labour to power in the next general election at a campaign event in Camden.

Sir Keir said Boris Johnson was a disgrace because “he's got the wrong politics”, adding he thought the Prime Minister is “not fit to run the country” because of a lack of standards.

Accusing Mr Johnson of lacking “integrity, honesty, transparency, and accountability”, Sir Keir said local elections mattered because they would set up Labour’s run for the next general election.

Party members heard that members of the public would be looking to see if the Labour Party was changing and whether members of the public would see them as a government in waiting.

Challenging Labour campaigners to show the country “how bad [Boris Johnson] is”, Sir Keir said the expectation for the next national election was May 2023.
