A demonstration staged by Just Stop Oil was shut down by the police in just 11 minutes as the police swiftly arrested group members.
The rally, which took place on Kennington Park Road, Oval, was quickly attended to by officers, who arrived on the scene at 9.18am this morning.
By 09.29am, the south London road was cleared by the police and all traffic was moving freely again.
The officers arrested 23 Just Stop Oil (JSO) members in just over 10 minutes.

Writing on social media, the Metropolitan Police said: “From the time of arrival officers have given final warnings, made arrests and cleared the road in around 11 minutes.”
The force also responded rapidly to the protest, being notified of it at 9.18am and arriving on the scene in the same minute.
The slow marchers were cleared off the road and moved onto the pavement.
JSO posted about the march on social media at 9.26am but just four minutes later, stated that they had been removed off of the road.

Posting on social media, the eco-zealot group said: "...and we're out of the road after reports of a blue light emergency vehicle. Looks like it's an unmarked police car."
The group of protestors was “significantly smaller than yesterday”, when 110 people were arrested after marched up the A41 in north London.
A large group of demonstrators marched up Hendon Way yesterday morning, causing significant disruption to passers-by.
JSO say their protesters have been arrested for allegedly breaching Section 7 of the Public Order Act 2023.

Prior to arresting all members and clearing the busy road, the Met Police said on social media: "There is significant congestion in the area. People stuck in this could be trying to get to work, appointments or school."
"We are continuing to make arrests and send additional resources to Hendon Way. That is more officers removed from their communities to arrest Just Stop Oil activists. We estimate that more than 60 have been made. This number could rise to around 100."
JSO said the protestors were peacefully marching to demand the "government immediately halt all new oil, gas, and coal projects in the UK."
The disruption marks the third week of JSO members slow marching across London.
