The eco-zealots have been wreaking havoc at universities this week

Britons angrily confronted a Just Stop Oil activist after he defaced an iconic university building with orange paint.

The 24-year-old, named Chiara Sarti, approached King’s College Cambridge before spray painting it as the group of eco-zealots turn their attention to universities.

Students representing the group have been carrying out similar actions at different universities across the country such as Bristol and Exeter.

In this instance, the young man faced the wrath of two furious passers-by as he sat cross-legged on the grass.

A woman shouted: “That is disgusting! Do you know what people did to build that, how hard they worked”.

The activist claimed his actions were “non-violent”, which only served to spark more fume from the angered pair.

The man responded: “Non-violent? You haven’t got a clue, you are so stupid.

“I can see a little flea with more intelligence than you.”

Chiara was later arrested, but not before being able to tell the camera that “new oil and gas is a death sentence”.

GB News' Richard Tice took to X to condemn the vandal, branding him a "moron".

It comes just days after Just Stop Oil targeted the University of Bristol with a 21-year-old student caking the historic Queen’s Building in orange paint.

Ben Meehan strolled alongside the building armed with a fire extinguisher, covering the glass facade as students and staff watched on.

Meehan was promptly arrested with three police cars and six policemen arriving on the scene.

To which his Just Stop Oil supporters complained on social media: "3 police cars, 6 police vs 1 student. Really?"

After breaking the law, the student then turned to the camera to unleash a bizarre rant, suggesting the university are culpable for a portion of the world’s emissions.

He said the university “takes money from Airbus and Rolls Royce. Two companies that represent just under two per cent of the world’s emissions.

“A university founded on the exploitation and murder of those in the global south carries on that fine tradition. Rolls Royce has a target for net zero by 2050. There will not be a world left by 2050.

“We have a moral responsibility as students to not stand by and be complicit in this genocide. This comes back to this genocidal Government.

“This paint will wash out, but the blood on Rishi Sunak’s hands will not come out.”

Recent acts at universities come as part of the group’s bid to stop “the UK Government’s plans to licence new oil and gas projects”.

Last month the Rosebank oil field, the UK’s largest untapped oil field estimated to contain up to 300 million barrels of oil, was waved through by regulators.
