Joanna Lumley has hit out at women who call everything sexist, saying it is a “new fashion” to be a victim.
The actress said women were tougher when she was a younger and that they knew how to deal with the attention.

"The new fashion is to be a victim, a victim of something. It’s pathetic. We have gone mad."
In an interview with Prospect Magazine, the Absolutely Fabulous star was asked how she felt about the MeToo movement: "If someone whistled at you in the street, it didn’t matter.
"If someone was groping, we slapped their hands. We were quite tough and looked after ourselves."
The former model began her career in 1967 and has gone on to form an iconic career in television and film having appeared as a Bond girl in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service in 1969, and later in the Absolutely Fabulous comedy series which first aired in 1992.
