New video footage of missing teenager Jay Slater has emerged with the owner of the video describing him as “looking worse for wear”.

The 19-year-old, who has been missing for a week now, was spotted staggering around at a club in Tenerife just hours before his disappearance.

A man reported seeing Slater at the popular Papagayo club in Playa de las Américas in some of the final captured footage of the teenager.

In the video, Slater, who is wearing a blue top around his neck, appeared to fall to the floor.

“It was a good atmosphere, it was hard dance music and everybody was having a good time vibing away,” the 20-year-old club-goer told The Sun.

He said that he started filming to capture the moment when he saw a man stumbling around, with fellow club-goers looking concerned.

“I had no idea it was Jay at first, he was proper worse for wear. He was with a couple of lads and a girl.”

Upon learning about the 19-year-old’s disappearance he rechecked the footage to see if he captured the teenager on his phone’s camera, just hours before he vanished.

“I looked back at my videos and my blood ran cold, knowing he was gone,” he said.

The teenager flew from Lancashire to the Canary Islands for a music festival when he disappeared after he went to stay with people he met during a night out on June 16.

During his final call to his friend Lucy Law at 8am local time on Monday, the 19-year-old said his phone had only one per cent battery, he was thirsty and he did not know where he was.

His last location shows the Rural de Teno Park - an area popular among hikers. He has not been seen since and the search and rescue operation is now its eighth day.

Yesterday, police in Tenerife honed in on specific buildings in the region to try and locate the missing teenager.

In the middle of the sparse bushland, with a terrain that has been described as "a complete nightmare", rescuers have focused their search efforts on two small brick buildings.

A firefighter involved in the search admitted that the terrain makes it particularly "difficult" to find people.

Speaking to Manchester Evening News, Riccardo from the Brigada Forestal, said: "It's very difficult to find people here, because of the ravines and the mountains... I've seen the case and about the missing boy on the internet... but the days are now passing by and it's increasingly strange that he hasn't appeared yet."

British Police in Lancashire are said to have made “an offer of support to the Guardia Civil to see if they need any additional resources” in their efforts to find the teenager.

However, the police in Tenerife have declined the offer and are continuing the efforts themselves.
