'Human remains' found on path overlooking beach in Sunderland
The discovery follows reports of ‘suspicious activity’ in the area

A police investigation into “suspected human remains” were found on a beachside path has continued into its third day.
Officers were called to Marine Walk by Sunderland’s Roker Beach just after 10am on Tuesday, Northumbria Police said.
A sniffer dog and around 10 officers were present, with one section of the beach sealed off from the public according to witnesses, said the Sunderland Echo.
Police had confirmed they received a report of “suspicious activity on Marine Walk” at the time.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson told GB News: “Shortly after 10am on Tuesday, we received a report that suspected human remains had been found on Marine Walk in Sunderland.
“Enquiries are ongoing and an investigation has been launched into the discovery.
“Anyone with any concerns is advised to speak to an officer on duty, or to contact us through our website or by calling 101.”
