“It doesn’t work if it’s not windy, doesn’t work if it’s not sunny, and that’s in the most sunny place in Arizona where they have the most of them, they still need all their backup generators and gas to do everything.
“It just seems mental. It’s ridiculous. I’m more interested in nuclear and I obsess over things like the mining of more interesting, cleaner energy.”

Valance made reference to Australia’s plan to reach net zero emissions by 2050.
The plan aims to introduce stronger action on climate issues and align with the goal of the Paris Agreement of limiting warming well below two degrees celsius.
Elsewhere in the interview, Valance lamented the “woke” state of play in Australia as she vowed to never live there again as she is committed to England, a country she feels “very patriotic” about.
“The plan would be to stay and live where we love, which is here”, she said.
“I’m very patriotic to this place. My mother is from Southampton. My whole family is English.
“I don’t want to go anywhere. And Nick [Candy, her husband], doesn’t want to go anywhere.
“We prefer to be in our country.”
