Police have launched an urgent investigation after a woman was sexually assaulted and punched by a group of men in Aldershot town centre.

The incident occurred on Gordon Road at around 2am on Sunday, February 2, where the victim, who is in her 20s, was attacked.


Hampshire Constabulary reported that the woman was sexually assaulted over her clothes by multiple assailants.

The attack, which took place in the early hours of the morning, has prompted police to release CCTV footage of a man they believe may have vital information.

Officers are working to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the incident and have been conducting numerous enquiries as part of their investigation.

The victim suffered injuries to her face and legs during the assault, police confirmed. Hampshire Constabulary have released CCTV images of a man they wish to speak with in connection to the incident.

"Since this was reported to us, officers have been carrying out a number of enquiries and are working hard to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the incident," a spokesman from Aldershot Police said.

"We are hoping to speak with a man who may have vital information which could help with our enquiries," the spokesman added.

The police have emphasised their commitment to the investigation and are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.

The man who police wish to speak with is described as Asian, aged between 35 and 45 years old, and between 5ft 8ins and 6ft tall.

He is of medium build with black hair and was wearing a black puffer jacket and blue jeans at the time.

Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward by calling 101, quoting reference number 44250048879.
