A 40-year-old man has died after collapsing during the Great Manchester Run.
The man is understood to have received medical treatment after falling ill during the half-marathon event through the city on Sunday.
The runner - who later died in hospital - was one of around 30,000 people taking part in the 21km (13.1 miles) race.
The Great Run Company sent their "heartfelt condolences to the man's family and friends".
No further details on the man have been released at this stage.
The event, which also included a 10km run (6.2 miles), was broadcast on the BBC and took place ahead of the victory parade for Premier League champions Manchester City.
Thousands lined up on the streets to cheer participants on on Sunday's event - which also included a wheelchair race.
It began on Portland Street and ended on Deansgate with runners passing by the city's iconic Old Trafford stadium.

It first began as a 10km race back in 2003, before expanding to include a half-marathon event in 2017.
Mayor Andy Burnham took place in the race, as well as council leader Bev Craig.
Soap stars also put on their running shoes to take to the streets, including Daniel Jillings, known for his role in Hollyoaks, Danny Miller of Emmerdale fame, and Elle Mulvaney who stars in Coronation Street.
The men's 10km race was won by Vincent Ngetich with a time of 27 minutes and 25 seconds while the women's 10k was won by Gotytom Gebreslase, who finished in 30 minutes and 32 seconds.

In the half-marathon event, James Westlake won the men's race with a time of one hour, six minutes and 34 seconds.
Meanwhile, Eleanor Baker claimed the women's top spot after she completed the race in one hour, 14 minutes and 49 seconds.
