There are reports of a 'national incident' at the airport
Passengers at Glasgow Airport are facing heavy travel disruption after a security gate has been closed as police search for someone.
Reports of a "national incident" at the airport have thrown travellers into chaos, with many reporting heavy delays as authorities have said that all airlines are currently affected.
Police are checking passengers ID's once they have gone through security, according to the Daily Record.
Passengers have also been blocked from entering the building as it is reportedly “at capacity”.

“I then noticed the x-ray belts were all at a standstill.
"That’s when I heard from a staff member that the police were looking for someone and that the security had been closed temporarily.

“The police had set a checkpoint up just before you entered duty free and every passenger had to go through a passport check by border force officers.”
The man continued: “The same idea as when you normally arrive from abroad.
“I’m not sure what was going on but it seems like they were looking for someone specific.
“There was no communication with passengers at all.
“A woman beside me thinks she missed her flight but she couldn’t get back out of the security area to check and there were no staff providing info.”
In response, airline Loganair wrote: “In light of all airlines being affected by the recent security situation, please allow additional time to retrieve your luggage.
“If you have any other issues, please get in touch with our handling agents, who will advise further.”
