Speaking to GB News members, she said: "Hi, I'm Miriam Cates, and it's my first day for today, presenting Britain's newsroom with Ben Leo.

"I'm really excited, a little bit nervous. I'm most worried about reading the autocue and knowing when it's my turn, but I'm most looking forward to getting into some of the really big stories today.

"It's a great day for my first day with the news from America about Joe Biden. So very much excited."
