Von der Leyen won another five-year term last week after 401 MEPs voted in her favour

“Nothing has changed” under Ursula von der Leyen’s EU stewardship and things have instead “got worse”, Marine Le Pen has said in a scathing rant about the European Commission President.

Von der Leyen won another five-year term last week after 401 MEPs voted in her favour.

Le Pen, who leads the right-wing National Rally in French Parliament, raged at how the bloc has changed during her time in situ.

“Not only has nothing changed, but everything is almost worse”, she said.

“The French are going on vacation seeing Von Der Leyen at the Head of the European Commission and Mrs Braun at the head of the National Assembly.

“We see people not representative of any majority and given powers that the French did not grant them.”
