A fourth man has been arrested in an arson probe into a series of fires at properties linked to Sir Keir Starmer.

The suspect, 48, was detained on Monday at London Stansted Airport.

He was initially stopped by officers under schedule 7 of the Terrorism Act 2000, before being arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit arson with intent to endanger life, Scotland Yard said.

He has now been taken to a police station in London where he remains in custody, the force added.

Roman Lavrynovych, 21, Stanislav Carpiuc, 26, and Petro Pochynok, 34, were all handed charges by the Crown Prosecution Service relating to the fires.

Lavrynovych was charged with three counts of arson with intent to endanger life.

While Carpiuc - also arrested at a London airport, this time at Luton - and Pochynok were both charged with conspiracy to commit arson with intent to endanger life.

The trio will appear at London's Old Bailey this Friday, June 6.

Back in May, police and other emergency services had descended on the Prime Minister's family home in Kentish Town, north London after a blaze broke out.

Starmer previously lived at the Kentish Town residence with his wife and two children before relocating to Downing Street after the General Election last July.

The other fires erupted at the entrance to an apartment block in nearby Islington, and a car in Kentish Town.

The car and both the properties were linked to Starmer, Westminster Magistrates' Court heard when Lavrynovych appeared in court.
