Euromillions: £83.4m jackpot is 'biggest prize to go unclaimed for six days'

Lottery players are being urged to check their tickets as a massive £83.4million EuroMillions jackpot remains unclaimed after six days.
The delay in claiming the prize from the January 24 draw is "very unusual" for such a large amount, according to lottery operator Allwyn.
And the unclaimed jackpot is the "biggest prize to go unclaimed for six days", an Allwyn spokesman has said.
The winning ticket, purchased in a shop, matched all five main numbers: 02, 11, 19, 30, 49 and Lucky Star numbers 03 and 08.

While the ticket was bought in a retail location, Allwyn has not yet revealed the specific area where the purchase was made.
If the prize remains unclaimed by next Friday, Allwyn plans to carry out "bespoke activity" in the area where the ticket was purchased to find its lucky winner.
"It is in everybody's interest that this prize is claimed," the Allwyn spokesman said.

PAThe lottery operator has emphasised how unusual it is for such a substantial prize to remain unclaimed for this length of time, noting it is the "biggest prize to have gone unclaimed at this stage".
Andy Carter, senior winners' adviser at Allwyn, said: "I can't believe there's one lucky ticket holder out there who hasn't claimed this incredible EuroMillions jackpot prize - there are 83,474,081 reasons for them to check their ticket straight away."
"We're urging all EuroMillions players to check their paper tickets to see if they are our missing multi-millionaire," he added.
But the eight-figure jackpot remains well below the largest EuroMillions wins in UK history.

PAThe current record stands at £195million, won by an anonymous UK ticket holder on July 19, 2022, while Joe and Jess Thwaite from Gloucester claimed £184,262,899 with a Lucky Dip ticket in May of the same year.
The UK's third-largest win was secured by an anonymous ticket holder who won £177million in November 2024.
But not every mega payout has a happy ending - one couple who were named winners in 2020 "lost a couple of friends over it", though "it just showed they weren't real friends to begin with".
And if this week's winner leaves their windfall unclaimed, they could end up with nothing - like Martyn and Kay Troo.
