Comedian Josh Howie has been left fuming after Nike revealed it had altered the St Georges cross on football shirts using purple and blue horizontal stripes.
The sporting giant called a “playful update” to the shirt ahead of Euro 2024 and said the colours were inspired by the training kit worn by England’s 1966 World Cup winners.
Fans and commentators disagree and have reacted angrily since the release of the kit that England will wear at Euro 2024 this summer branding it ‘woke.’.
On GB News Headliners Dixon said: "There is an argument but it is pretty tenuous, to me they are just messing around. We have our backs up these days, we are on the alert for anything woke.
Josh Howie raged at the decision and claimed "it is my flag"

Host Josh Howie explained: "This was designed two years ago when it was peak woke."
Dixon added: "Exactly, it looks very woke. It is a changing of the St Georges cross to look blue and red.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS
"I suspect it's actually what they're selling now, so they don't want to change it. It would take them months to change it back.
"So they're saying it's an interpretation of the flag. It's a defilement of our flag. This is why I can't watch football anymore. I've had enough. This is my flag."
Nike will not alter the jersey, which they claim is a nod to England’s 1966 training gear and is said to have ‘flown off the shelves’ since its release on Monday.
The Labour leader Keir Starmer has also argued that the kit should be changed back.
The Labour leader said: "I think it was wrong."
"As you know, I'm a big football fan. I go to England games - men's and women's games - and the flag is used by everybody.
Sir Keir Starmer also called for the flag to be changed
PA"It is a unifier, it doesn't need to be changed, we just need to be proud of it - so, I think they should just reconsider this and change it back."
He went on: "I'm not even sure they can properly explain why they thought they needed to change it in the first place.
"One more thing on that for me, they could also reduce the price of the shirts - I think it's £130."
A description of the new kit from Nike read: "The England 2024 home kit disrupts history with a modern take on a classic. The trim on the cuffs takes its cues from the training gear worn by England's 1966 heroes, with a gradient of blues and reds topped with purple.
"The same colours also feature an interpretation of the flag of St George on the back of the collar."
