Peter Byrne
Police have arrested a third person in connection with the “cold-blooded” murder of 26-year-old Elle Edwards on Christmas Eve.
Ms Edwards is not believed to have been the target of the attack at the Lighthouse in Wallasey Village in Merseyside.
A 31-year-old man from Tranmere has been detained on suspicion of conspiracy to murder and remains in custody.

On Monday, a 30-year-old man also from Tranmere was arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.
And a 19-year-old woman from Rock Ferry was taken into custody on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.
Merseyside Police have been given additional time to question them as they both remain in custody.
Ms Edwards was enjoying the festivities with her friends in the Lighthouse before she was shot in the head at around 11.50pm.
People in the vicinity desperately attempted to revive the 26-year-old by performing CPR but she tragically died at the scene.
Deputy Chief Constable Ian Critchley, of Merseyside Police renewed an appeal for anyone with information to come forward on Wednesday.
Mr Critchley said investigators were working “round the clock” to work out what happened before, during and after the attack.
He said work was ongoing to establish whether the weapon used in the attack, which injured four men, could be connected to any other incidents.

A 28-year-old man from Beechwood on the Wirral remains in a critical condition following the shooting.
Mr Critchley said: “We have seen over a number of months some level of escalation here.
“There has been real relentless activity in relation to the arrest of a number of people who are now behind bars or remanded in custody, significant seizures of drugs and weapons.”
He urged families of those involved in organised crime to come forward and said: “You have blood on your hands too if you’re a bystander or if you want to live off the profits being gained.”
