A left-wing campaign group have vowed to “shut down” London during April in a month-long plot to cause commuter chaos.

Youth Demand is now attempting to raise £40,000 to support their plans.

The group, led by far-left students such as Just Stop Oil activist Sam Holland, campaigns over climate change concerns and against Israel.

Holland said: “It is our strategy to shut down London every day in April to force action on the Palestinian and climate genocides.”

In a post on X, Youth Demans wrote: “We must resist and force Keir Starmer’s Government and all complicit organisations to enforce a complete trade embargo on Israel.”

“To be able to shut London down for a month, we need your help. Donate to our crowdfunder now to fuel the youth resistance.”

Last year, the group sprayed the Ministry of Defence in paint, vowing this year to continue with an even bigger “civil disobedience campaign”.

The group expect to spent £75,000 in March and April on various demonstrations.

Around £25,000 will go towards the living expenses of people working “full-time in mobilisation, action and media teams”, while another £7,500 is to book venues.

A further £5,500 is set aside for “accommodation and food for action takers” and £2,000 on legal support.

The fundraiser has already raised almost £3,000.

Police chiefs have said they would support protesters’ rights, however MPs and lords demanded on Thursday for urgent action to stop the disruption.

Lord Austin, the UK’s newly appointed trade envoy to Israel said: “The police must take urgent action to stop these deluded and selfish children immediately.”

Tory MP Sir John Hayes told The Sun: “They threaten us and intend to make working people’s lives a misery.”

The Met Police promised to take appropriate action in the face of serious disruption, however they doubled down on their support for peaceful protests.

“We will support the right to peacefully protest but where groups attempt to cause serious disruption we will take appropriate action,” they stated.

It comes after two Youth Demand activists were arrested Thursday after vandalising a building at the University of Glasgow in a protest over trade with Israel.

Members of Youth Demand were also arrested last month at a pro-Palestine protest after failing to comply with Metropolitan police restrictions.
