The legendary broadcaster did not mince his words

Eamonn Holmes has launched a scathing attack on the late Mohamed Al-Fayed on GB News.

The legendary broadcaster did not mince his words, calling the former Harrods owner a "creepy old git" in light of recent allegations.

Holmes expressed disbelief at how Al-Fayed managed to evade scrutiny for so long, stating, "You look at him now and you think, how the heck did he get away with this for so long? That's the question."

His comments come in the wake of a BBC documentary that has brought to light numerous accusations against Al-Fayed.

The BBC documentary, titled "Al Fayed: Predator at Harrods", featured detailed accounts from women accusing the late tycoon of sexual harassment, inappropriate behaviour, and at least five instances of rape. Many of the alleged victims were former employees of Harrods.

Since the programme aired, more than 200 people are believed to have come forward with similar allegations against Al-Fayed, who passed away last year at 94.

The Metropolitan Police have launched an investigation into the case, while a group of lawyers have formed 'Justice for Harrods Survivors' to represent the alleged victims.

Princess Diana's former butler, Paul Burrell, has shared disturbing details about her encounters with Al-Fayed. According to Burrell, Diana was left "shaking" after Al-Fayed allegedly made an "indecent proposal" to her.

Diana reportedly referred to Al-Fayed as "creepy" and "slimy", and even nicknamed him "Yoda" after the Star Wars character.

Al-Fayed's son Omar has issued a statement expressing shock at the allegations against his late father. The 36-year-old said:

"I am horrified and deeply concerned by the allegations recently brought to light against my late father. The extent and explicit nature of the allegations are shocking and has thrown into question, the loving memory I had of him."

Omar called for full accountability, stating:

"I firmly believe that anyone found guilty of such reprehensible actions, including having had facilitated, enabled or helped cover up such actions, no matter their status, must be held accountable."

He emphasised that "No one is above the law, and all victims deserve their day in court."
