Two people have been hospitalised following an airplane crash in North Yorkshire.
Emergency services rushed to the scene at Darlington just before 12pm today after the plane hit the ground.
It was carrying two passengers, both of whom are thought not to have serious injuries.
The incident occurred in Dalton-on-Tees late this morning, resulting in a major emergency response from North Yorkshire Police, Durham Constabulary, fire crews, and ambulance services.
The light yellow Druine D62B Condor aircraft crashed near Croft Circuit, a well-known motor racing venue.
In a statement, North Yorkshire Police said: "We were called to a report that a light aircraft had crashed near Dalton-on-Tees at about 11.50am today.
"North Yorkshire Police officers, supported by officers from Durham Constabulary, attended the scene along with the fire and ambulance services.
"Two men in the aircraft were taken to hospital for checks - however, they are not believed to have been seriously injured.

It is understood a cordon has been erected at the scene.
One dog walker told The Northern Echo that he's never seen "nothing like this before".
He said: "I just heard the sirens when I was out in the garden. I think it was about 11.30am or 11.45am.

"I found out when I went onto Facebook, but it didn’t show much. I thought there might’ve been an accident on the road as I was sat in the garden.
"I could see them coming this way. We do get incidents here, but I didn’t know it was a light aircraft. I’ve lived here for 11 years. We had nothing like this before.”
