Davey Holland, 40, forced entry into the property

A 40-year-old Dagenham man has been hailed a hero after smashing through a window to help save the toddler involved in yesterday's horrific triple stabbing.

Davey Holland, a dad-of-six, burst into the property after receiving a knock at his door from the blood-soaked mother.

He smashed open a window as the suspect was being treated by an off-duty police officer.

The suspect, who is in his 40s, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

He left three victims, who are believed to be known to each other, including a two-year-old boy and eight-year-old girl.

Recounting yesterday's horrific 5.35pm attack, Holland told The Sun: “The mum knocked at my door. It was horrible.

“She was saying there’s a baby in the house, please help him.”

The three victims were rushed to hospital to receive urgent treatment for their stab wounds.

"At this early stage, we believe those involved were known to each other and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.

"A crime scene will remain in place for some time while our officers carry out vital work and you will see an increased policing presence in the area over the coming days.
