Crime: ‘Vulnerable’ teenage girl raped and used as ‘commodity’ by men, Leeds Crown Court told

A “vulnerable” teenage girl was groomed and sexually abused by three men who used her as a “commodity” for their own pleasure, a court has heard.

Mohammed Kammer, Nahman Mohammed and Wiqas Mahmud are accused of raping the girl in the Huddersfield area when she aged 14 and 15, Leeds Crown Court heard.

The men made the girl feel special and plied her with drink and drugs until she was “utterly corrupted” and made to feel she had no choice but to submit to sexual activity, the jury was told.

Kate Batty, opening the case for the prosecution, said: “This case involved the sexual exploitation of a young girl in the Huddersfield area between 2005 and 2008.

“From the age of 14, she experienced repeated sexual abuse by older men who deliberately targeted her in order to use her for their own sexual purposes.

“She was young and she was vulnerable.

“She was used as a commodity. She was not seen by these men as a human being, her feelings were not taken into account, what she wanted was of no concern to these men.

“The men wanted to engage in sexual activity with her and so they did. They did not care whether she consented.”

The jury heard that Kammer, 37, known as Kammy, raped the girl vaginally and orally on four occasions.

He is also charged with Mohammed, 35, of trafficking the girl in the UK for sexual exploitation.

The court heard that the men drove the girl to Manchester to have sex with Mohammed’s uncle.

Mohammed, known as Drac, is also accused of raping the girl vaginally and orally.

Mahmud, 41, known as Vics, is charged with one count of rape.

The men deny the charges.
