Thousands of households have started receiving their £150 council tax rebate as part of Rishi Sunak’s package of measures designed to combat the cost-of-living crisis.
The Chancellor announced the tax rebate in February to help low-income households tackle soaring inflation and rising energy bills.
Those living in properties with council tax bands A to D will be entitled to a one-off cash payment, this is expected to be 80 percent of households.
When families receive the payments is down to individual local councils.

While some may have already been paid, others could be waiting months for the extra cash.
On Tuesday, Doncaster Council said they the rebate landed in 77,000 of their resident's bank accounts and on wednesday, it was announced 30,000 residents in Hull had been transferred.
Yesterday, payments arrived in the banks of families in the West Midlands too.
While York Council confirmed residents will be receiving their rebates by the end of the month.
Bracknell Forest Council in Berkshire confirmed on Twitter they will start making payments from next Monday.
Barnet, North London, Knowsley Council and Preston Council have said they are beginning to process payments.
Liverpool homes will start receiving payments from next month.
Calderdale Council of West Yorkshire have said the application form to claim won't be released until May.
People can find out what council tax band and whether they are entitled to the rebate by using the Government postcode search tool on their website.
