A man in a wheelchair has been stabbed to death in a street fight in east London.

Emergency services were called at 3.38pm today to reports of a fight on Rushmore Road, Clapton.


Officers found a man, aged in his 30s, suffering a stab injury. Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

It was reported on social media that a machete was used.

A butcher at local store Hook Meat Supplier told MyLondon the "disabled" victim was a "good guy" who he has seen around for about nine years.

He added that he is "not happy [with the stabbing] because it affects business," and that he "didn't see any trouble".

A spokesperson from the Metropolitan Police told GB News: "Police were called at 15:38hrs on Wednesday, 28 August, to reports of a fight in Rushmore Road, E5.

"Officers, the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended and found a man, aged in his 30s, suffering a stab injury.

"Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin will be informed.

"A crime scene is in place. Two males (no further details at this time) have been arrested.
