The vile Russian tourist propositioned the 15-year-old Briton, prompting her father to knock him out with a single punch

A British father has allegedly killed a Russian paedophile with a single punch after the latter vilely propositioned the former's teenage daughter in Thailand.

The dad, 34, had been at a pool party in Pattaya with his 15-year-old daughter and 28-year-old Thai wife when the drunk Russian tourist allegedly attempted to flirt with the teen.

The tourist, 36-year-old Igor Yasilyev, reportedly whispered to the 15-year-old that he wanted to have sex with her - prompting her father to violently intervene.

The Briton, infuriated at Yasilyev's sexual remarks, struck him in the face, sending the 36-year-old tumbling headfirst to the ground.

Pattaya City Police Station's Captain Parnsarn Krongsit said authorities had received a report at 3.16am on May 27, and, alongside paramedics, arrived at the scene to discover four male and two female foreigners - including the unconscious Yasilyev, who was lying on the floor with blood pooling around his head.

The 36-year-old was taken to hospital in Pattaya - but succumbed to his injuries, and died shortly afterwards.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Nawin Thirawit, Superintendent of the Pattaya City Police Station, said: "An arrest warrant has been issued for the British man by the Pattaya Provincial Court.

"He is wanted for assaulting another person resulting in death."

The father - from Wales, but who lives in Thailand - was subsequently arrested on Monday at his home in the country's Sattahip district.

He told officers: "I did not think my punch would lead to the man's death... I regret my actions."

His 28-year-old wife said she had left the party before the father and daughter in order to go to work - but at 3am, her husband had texted her telling her he wanted to go home.

She said that upon her arrival at the villa, she found her husband walking in the road, and took him back inside.

Then, when she quizzed him on what had happened, he said that Yasilyev had begun to sexually harass his daughter - even though the Russian's wife was also at the pool party.

She said the harassment only escalated until Yasilyev ended up propositioning the 15-year-old, prompting her husband to knock him out with a single punch.

One of the Russian's acquaintances said the men had not known each other before the pool party, adding: "They were drinking together normally until a row broke out.

"I didn't know what nationality the man was, but he punched Igor, who hit his head on the ground - I was so shocked because there was a lot of blood."

A Foreign Office spokesperson told GB News: "We are in contact with the Thai authorities following the arrest of a British national in Thailand."

GB News has approached the British Embassy in Thailand for comment.
