Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, has formally responded to letter of resignation from the former Health Secretary, Sajid Javid and former Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rishi Sunak.
In a letter, published to Twitter, the Prime Minister thanked Mr Javid and Mr Sunak in letters adding he was "very sorry to receive it".
Mr Johnson praised the former Chancellor for his "outstanding service" to the government during the "most challenging period for our economy in peacetime history".
The Prime Minister also commended the former Health Secretary for his handling of the Covid-19 pandemic, stating "you have served this Government, and the people of the United Kingdom, with distinction".
