Five people were taken to hospital following a 'targeted attack'
Police have launched a manhunt for a hit-and-run driver who plunged into a group of people outside a nightclub in a "targeted attack".
Students were out celebrating freshers' week when five people were left injured outside The Tunnel Club in Birmingham.
Police say the car ploughed into a group of men "deliberately" at around 3am this morning before the driver fled the scene.
One victim suffered "multiple serious injuries" and four others were treated for "potentially serious injuries".
Officers arrested one man at the scene on suspicion of affray, who remains in custody.
Police say they are "actively searching" for the driver and the car involved.
One person with "multiple serious injuries" was rushed to a Major Trauma Centre.
The other four were treated by medics and taken to hospital.
