Bev Turner feels Britons are “angry” after days of violence across Britain, citing “years of unfettered immigration”.

The GB News star was reacting to chaos sparked by a crazed knife attack in Southport and fear struck into Southend locals as a machete fight broke out on the seafront.

Bev criticised the mayhem in Southport, but said it's reflective of a growing sentiment across the country.

“These people are angry”, she said about the people in Southport who voiced their frustration at Sir Keir Starmer as he paid his respects to the three children killed at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class in the town.

“They aren’t just angry at Keir Starmer. They are angry at feeling their identity, their lives, their Britishness, their safety on British streets has been compromised by what they see as unfettered immigration for 20-odd years.

“That is where I think Keir Starmer should have made a statement. If he wanted to make a statement, make it on that.”

It comes after scenes of chaos in Southport caused by “people from out of town”.

Norman Wallace, who helped with the clean-up efforts, joined GB News’s East Midlands reporter Will Hollis to hit out at those responsible for bringing further misery to a town left reeling from the knife attack.

Alice Dasilva Aguiar, nine; Bebe King, six; and Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, were all fatally stabbed in Southport on Monday, while a 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons because of his age, remains in custody accused of murder and attempted murder.

“The vigil was fantastic with the people of Southport coming together”, Wallace said.

“And then suddenly, we heard sirens, we saw smoke in the air and then there was a riot. It was all people who were from outside of town who got changed when they got here into the streets and set about the police.

“The police did a marvellous job, there wasn’t enough of them, but they weren’t to know that.

“These were people outside of town who came into cause trouble for people who haven’t done any harm.

“Today, the people of Southport have come together to clean this whole street up. It shows great spirit.”

Merseyside Police said “a large group of people – believed to be supporters of the English Defence League” – began to throw items such as bricks towards the mosque in the seaside town at around 7.45pm.

In a post on social media, the force said shops had been “broken into and looted”, adding that “those responsible will be brought to justice”.

Wallace hit out at those who caused chaos in the town, saying local streets soon resembled a “war scene”.

“It was just horrendous. It was like a war scene”, he said.

“But the people of Southport, it wasn’t them. It was people who came into the town to cause mayhem and trouble and the people in Government need to do something about them.”
